The 2010 Hyundai Sonata is setting the bar for mid-sized sedans. Hyundai has improved the Sonata’s safety and comfort, placing it atop the competition. It brings more features than any other sedan in its class. When we compared the Hyundai Sonata with another vehicle in the same category, we found that the Sonata outshined its competitor. We chose the Toyota Camry for our vehicle comparison.

The new V6 Sonata is roomier and has more power than the Toyota Camry. The 2010 Hyundai Sonata received the Best in Class Vehicle Satisfaction Award and was also named Best Budget Family Car by ConsumerSearch.com.

Hyundai has certainly made an effort to keep the Sonata fresh. Last year it sported a number of significant revisions, including powertrain improvements and a sleeker dashboard design.  The Toyota Camry does not offer any features that top the Sonata’s clean look.

The Sonata comes with 250 horsepower, 3.3 liter V6, while the Camry only has 190 horsepower and 3 liter V6.  Unlike Camry, the Sonata’s standard 5 speed automatic transmission has a manual shift mode and despite having a more powerful engine, the Sonata is as fuel efficient as the Toyota Camry.
